Personal Bio: Rachel Hurst

Rachel Hurst is the founder and president of H Cap Connect. With more than 25 years of human resources experience, Rachel’s strategic focus on human capital provides the ability to offer customized options for small- to mid-sized organizations. Her diverse experience can provide the best course of action for your organization.

Rachel is a knowledgeable and driven HR professional with the ability to provide one-on-one training or direct an entire HR department. She is highly skilled in employee relations, onboarding, recruiting, program management, compliance, training, compensation and benefits and human resources best practices.

Rachel has provided human resources management and direction for General Electric Transportation, RMI, ACG Professionals, Compass Retail and Coca-Cola. Her work for these companies includes support for client groups located across the country, leadership team integration and developing processes that met the short- and long-term needs of the organization. She has worked with business leaders, contributed to strategic planning and helped resolve complex issues, maximizing human capital.

Rachel has quickly integrated benefits and payroll eliminating redundant processes. She has implemented retention plans to secure top subject matter experts through key transition efforts. Managing an entire human resources function, Rachel has designed highly competitive benefit plans and formalized bonus and commission programs. She knows how to maintain attrition rates well below average and implement advanced online application tracking, integrated payroll, benefits and employee self-service human resources information systems (HRIS) – reducing time processing and cost.

Her skills also include establishing HR functions from the ground up and working closely with management to meet the goals of a growing business.

Rachel has overseen remote locations and was responsible for policy creation, college recruiting programs, payroll, compensation and benefits and employee relations. She has established formalized talent acquisition programs by building strong relationships and networks at major universities throughout the US.

Rachel moved to northeast Ohio in December 2013 and married her husband, Jesse, in April of 2014. Rachel spent 32 years in Atlanta, prior to relocating to Ohio.
